PLAYING OUT LOUD! APRIL 2004 An online monthly guide to live music in the South. Welcome to the April 2004 edition of Playing Out Loud, POL for short. More comprehensive than ever with in-depth articles and interviews. As regular visitors will know, and there are thousands of them now making 70,000+ hits per month, our mission is to stimulate interest in live music and let you know what’s on and where in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and parts of adjoining counties. Jazz, pop, blues, folk, country, rock, soul and classical music are all covered - if it’s live it’s here. But POL is not just a gigs listing site. Our Message Board has proved a popular innovation, but has been mainly used to recruit band members or announce last-minute gigs. So this month we will be starting an Articles For Sale section for anyone who wishes to sell albums, CDs, books, musical instruments, magazine, music ephemera - in fact anything music-related. And it’s completely free. We will continue to review gigs, CDs, books and restaurants and provide you with the latest news. We also offer our services, for a small fee, to bands and performers looking to improve their press, media or web content, and help them get more gigs. With over twenty years media experience, I personally know what is required to get media coverage and how to present it, so email me for more details.
