Welcome to the latest edition of Playing Out Loud, POL for short, a monthly
guide to live music in the South of England, with gig listings, articles,
interviews, news, CD and gig reviews and much more. We now get over 100,000 hits
per month, reflecting the success of our mission to stimulate interest in live
music in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and parts of adjoining counties.
Jazz, pop, blues, folk, country, rock, soul and classical music are all covered
- if it’s live it’s here.
Just click on the headings above to go where you want to go - resuming this
month is our Festival Focus section giving full details of all music festivals
in the South through to October.
As experts in the music media field with a host of contacts in the music
industry, we also offer our services, for a small fee, to bands and performers
looking to improve their press, media or web content, and get more gigs, and to
venues wishing to raise their profile and pull in more customers. Please email

Welcome to the April edition of Playing Out Loud which
we hope is more comprehensive than ever. Our new
Coming Soon section and our
Festival Focus feature plus many
pages of Listings for the current
month should help you plan way ahead with your live music excursions. This
month's Articles section puts the
spotlight on some varied gigs around the region - Rory Gallagher tribute band
Sinnerboy, the highly individual Ethan Daniel Davidson, the talented Eddi
Reader, jazz phenomenon Jacqui Dankworth, cellist and comedienne Rebecca
Carrington and ace guitarist Rocky Athas from the USA are all featured. Our
Reviews section will be added to
throughout the month, and if anybody out there wants to submit their own reviews
with or without photographs we will be pleased to put them on.

Due to public demand we are introducing this new section to enable you to plan
