Welcome to
PLAYING OUT LOUD!
Welcome to the August 2004 edition of Playing Out Loud,
POL for short. More comprehensive than ever with in-depth articles and interviews. As regular
visitors will know, and there are thousands of them now making
80,000+ hits per
month, our mission is to stimulate interest in live music and let you know
what’s on and where in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and parts of adjoining
counties. Jazz, pop, blues, folk, country, rock, soul and classical music are
all covered - if it’s live it’s here. But POL is not just a gigs listing site. Our Message Board has proved a popular innovation and can be used to recruit band members or announce last-minute gigs.
And it’s completely free. We will continue to review gigs, CDs, books and restaurants and provide you with the latest news. We also offer our services, for a small fee, to bands and performers
looking to improve their press, media or web content, and help them get more
gigs.
With over twenty years media experience, I personally know what is required to
get media coverage and how to present it, so
email me for more details. If you
like the look of this website my website manager can also help you set up your
own website or improve your existing one. Again, just
email for more
information.
POL August Editorial. To celebrate our 2nd birthday we've had a bit of a makeover and hope you like
the new, Improved PLAYING OUT LOUD! The mixture is the same as before with
monthly listings, articles, gig and CD reviews, festival details and news, but
we've moved things round a bit and are opening up the site for advertisers now
that we are getting over 87,000 hits a month.
To look at each section just click on the headers above. In view of our
continuing popularity as the place to go to find out about live music, it makes
more sense than ever to advertise with POL, as we like to call it. You can find
out about our very reasonable rates by clicking
here.
And don’t forget that our Reviews section is constantly updated with gig reviews
throughout each month - that’s one of the reasons that people come back to our
site again and again. We have a lot of exciting plans for the future too. One of
the constant requests we get is for news of live music gigs a little further
ahead so we plan to put that right soon. We will also be opening Venue & Bands
databases soon as well - watch this space for more news.
Meanwhile enjoy what’s coming round in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire this
month - www.playingoutloud.co.uk
gives you the comprehensive lowdown.
