SOUTHAMPTON MELA FESTIVAL, HOGLANDS PARK, SOUTHAMPTON – AUGUST 12
Free event featuring Asian Fusion, Bhangra, Bollywood, Qawwali, Indian Classical and many more music acts. An Activities Marquee will feature demonstrations and hands-on workshops in Tabla Drumming, Classical Dance and many more subjects. There is also a family play area, a funfair, face painting, craft stalls, a food court and a licensed bar.

EASTLEIGH MINI MELA FESTIVAL - AUGUST 13
Free Entrance for all, Mela opens at 1pm - 7pm.
To be held at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Headquarters, Eastleigh on
SundayAugust 13.
The Eastleigh Mini Mela will be held in association with Eastleigh Carnival Week, Asian Welfare and Cultural Association and Pukaar Project, Southampton. The Mela will commence at 1pm finishing at 7pm, the Eastleigh Mini Mela will host a fun day open for all. The event will bring with it a host of multi-cultural music and live performances. The Pukaar team will again provide plenty of goings-on, including workshops in Bollywood dancing, DJing and an Asian instrumental workshop.
The Mela is support by local musicians and artists including African Caribbean Steel Band, Lighthouse (Indian Gospel choir), Polish Dancing, Kala Arts will be providing (Indian Classical Dancing), in addition to Chinese Music and Dance, Disco Music, Young Morris Dancers, along with Multi-Cultural story telling. Stalls will include support from local businesses, food from all over the world, Jewellery and henna stalls, a fashion show and demonstrations by Hampshire Fire & Rescue and Hampshire Constabulary Police.
Eastleigh Mini Mela is sponsored by Hampshire Fire & Rescue service, Hampshire Constabulary, , Eastleigh Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, 'AND' Magazine and Pukaar Project Southampton.

A week long festival in a beautiful riverside town in North Devon with plenty of song and music sessions where musicians and singers are welcomed and made to feel at home. Line-up of artists this year includes Dave Webber and Anni Fentiman, Seize the Day, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Dangerous Curves, The Amazing Mr Smith, Emma & the Professor, Nick Wyke and Becki Driscoll Devils Interval and Dambuskers a local band who are starting to deservedly get on the Festival circuit. Nick and Becki also lead FolkSprings! Workshops for young folk musicians and singers who also get a festival showcase concert. A great week, ends with a free concert in the beautiful Victoria Park, and a Weekend of Dance

SWANAGE FOLK FESTIVAL – SEPTEMBER 8 – 10
The festival kicks off this year with a Friday night concert featuring Vin Garbutt, aided and abetted by Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies and all held together by MC Bram Taylor. On Saturday evening Tanglefoot from Canada will be supported at the Middle School by Colvin Quarmby and Quicksilver. The MC for the evening will be Ben Campbell.
For those who enjoy a little more active music we there are two dance bands, The Woodpecker Band and Mawkin. The common thread on Saturday night in the marquee will be Gordon Potts, the caller who will get everybody dancing in his own unique style.
Once again there will be two concerts in the more refined atmosphere of St Mary’s Parish Church. On Saturday afternoon the entertainment will be provided by Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies and to round off the festival the Sunday evening concert features music by Craig, Robinson and Morgan and the ever popular Tom McConville and Pauline Cato.
