While chatting to Gordon Haskell before a gig in the New Forest a week ago, he didn’t think to mention another forthcoming gig in his diary. On December 5 he plays a concert in Warsaw at the Presidential Palace before the Prime Minister and First Lady of Poland.
Presumably, gigs of this nature are pretty routine for Gordon! Good luck
with the gig Gordon, and also with your forthcoming jazz album, to be produced by Hamish Stuart, which you will be recording during January and February 2004. Sax player Paul Yeung and other top jazz players will be lending their talents to a project which is bound to put Gordon back in the limelight. (©Peter Ashton 2003)

A top American Bluegrass star turns up in the wilds of Hampshire this month.
Guitar and banjo player Peter Rowan plays a gig in Hyde Memorial Hall, Fordingbridge on Saturday December 6. Inspired singer-songwriter Jackie Leven, now based in Botley, Hampshire plays a gig at Mr Kyps in Poole this month. He’ll be there with his compelling songs and equally entertaining between-song anecdotes on Wednesday December 10.
Mr Kyps is at 8a Parr St, Ashley Cross, Lower Parkstone (01202 748945). Support comes from Olas and Jinder.
