Welcome to
PLAYING OUT LOUD!
An online monthly guide to live music in the South.

The principal aim is to tell you what's on and where, whether it's jazz, rock, pop, blues, country, folk, reggae or classical. One thing you won't find here is disco, karaoke or clubbing, but we are quite happy to accept advertisements from venues operating in this area.
As can be seen from the sections on the left, Playing Out Loud (or POL as we shall call it hereafter) is not just a music listings site. In addition to information on live gigs there is a lot more besides - news, articles, reviews, competitions, interviews and previews, and the aim is to keep expanding, and we need your help to do that.
We need more input from music lovers out there - gig and CD reviews, requests, suggestions, details and photographs of new bands or venue - anything music-related in fact. Similarly we are also happy to print free advertisements - instruments for sale, bands looking for vocalists, and so on.
The overall aim of POL is to get people out to enjoy live music in the South, whether it be rock, jazz, folk, classical or whatever. Listings are updated at the end of each month and the area covered by POL will continue to expand. Please add us to your "Favourite Places" to make sure you keep up to date!

As a professional in media communications for over 20 years, I have had a massive exposure and experience of just about every media form. From band and artists promotions, management and music reviews through to celebrity interviewer, book writer, professional speaker and speech writer.
I have the pleasure of working for a diverse clientbase, ranging from international corporate businesses and independent music magazines, to local bands. Although I suppose I must be a specialist in a few areas, I regard every assignment as a challenge, and will take on anything.
