Welcome to the latest edition of Playing Out Loud, POL for short, a monthly
guide to live music in the South of England, with gig listings, articles,
interviews, news, CD and gig reviews and much more. We now get over 200,000 hits
per month, reflecting the success of our mission to stimulate interest in live
music in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and parts of adjoining counties.
Jazz, pop, blues, folk, country, rock, soul and classical music are all covered
- if it’s live it’s here.
Just click on the headings above to go where you want to go - resuming this
month is our Festival Focus section giving full details of all music festivals
in the South through to October.
As experts in the music media field with a host of contacts in the music
industry, we also offer our services, for a small fee, to bands and performers
looking to improve their press, media or web content, and get more gigs, and to
venues wishing to raise their profile and pull in more customers. Please email

Welcome to the July edition of Playing Out Loud, which
is now getting over 200,000 hits per month.
The festival season is now in full swing and you can catch up with what’s going
on in our Festival Focus section.

we highlight some of the best gigs this month including upcoming Southampton
band Howard’s Alias, rock veterans Status Quo, Zoot Money & His Big Roll Band,
Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush from Canada, country star Danni Leigh and The Old
Crow Medicine Show from Nashville, Tennessee.
Coming up in our reviews section are
reports from Blues On The Farm at Chichester, gig reviews of Taj Mahal, Hayseed
Dixie and Oasis, plus reviews of new albums by The Magic Numbers, Wilko Johnson
and Alice Cooper.
