Welcome to the latest edition of Playing Out Loud, POL for short, a monthly
guide to live music in the South of England, with gig listings, articles,
interviews, news, CD and gig reviews and much more. We now get over 100,000 hits
per month, reflecting the success of our mission to stimulate interest in live
music in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and parts of adjoining counties.
Jazz, pop, blues, folk, country, rock, soul and classical music are all covered
- if it’s live it’s here.
Just click on the headings above to go where you want to go - resuming this
month is our Festival Focus section giving full details of all music festivals
in the South through to October.
As experts in the music media field with a host of contacts in the music
industry, we also offer our services, for a small fee, to bands and performers
looking to improve their press, media or web content, and get more gigs, and to
venues wishing to raise their profile and pull in more customers. Please email

Welcome to the March edition of Playing Out Loud, and
what a great month for live music. Gosport and Fareham Easter Festival, the
biggest indoor festival in the South, kicks off the festival season proper later
in the month. You can find the full lineup in our
Festival Focus section - Ralph
McTell, Eliza Carthy, Oysterband and Sharon Shannon are among the performers
playing. Our Articles section
focuses on acts like Shane McGowan and The Popes, Arthur Lee and Love, Equation
and Ray Gelato - see our Listings
section for a full geographical run-down of acts appearing at venues all over
the South. Mercury Rev, The Doves, Georgie Fame, Peter Andre, Jools Holland and
many more top names are playing.
Playing Out Loud brings you
gig reviews, CD reviews
and all the latest news on the music
scene from Portsmouth to Southampton to Winchester to Salisbury to Basingstoke
to Weymouth and all places in between. There is also a
Message Board for you to update us
with news and gig dates, express your opinions on the site, recruit band members
or whatever.

Due to public demand we are introducing this new section to enable you to plan
