Welcome to the latest edition of Playing Out Loud, POL for short, a monthly
guide to live music in the South of England, with gig listings, articles,
interviews, news, CD and gig reviews and much more. We now get over 100,000 hits
per month, reflecting the success of our mission to stimulate interest in live
music in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and parts of adjoining counties.
Jazz, pop, blues, folk, country, rock, soul and classical music are all covered
- if it’s live it’s here.
Just click on the headings above to go where you want to go - resuming this
month is our Festival Focus section giving full details of all music festivals
in the South through to October.
As experts in the music media field with a host of contacts in the music
industry, we also offer our services, for a small fee, to bands and performers
looking to improve their press, media or web content, and get more gigs, and to
venues wishing to raise their profile and pull in more customers. Please email

POL Editorial.
Welcome to the May edition of Playing Out Loud which
welcomes in a month bursting with great live music in the South. This month's
Articles section puts the spotlight
on some terrific gigs around the region - Donovan, Marianne
Faithfull, Rufus Wainwright and Vic Chesnutt are amongst the artists featured.
There are also many more great acts detailed in our
Listings section including
Chumbawamba, John Martyn, Elton John and Ian Hunter of Mott The Hoople fame.
We also welcome a new reviewer Laura with her take on Eddi Reader, Hurricane
Party and others - have a look in our
Reviews section which
also features Sam Brown, and will be constantly updated during the month with
not only gig
reviews but CDs, DVDS and much more. And if you want to plan ahead for the month

section. And don’t forget the festivals which really get underway this month -

details of all the big ones in the South right through to September. We would
