OXFORD FOLK FESTIVAL - MAY 13 - 15
Artists announced so far: Danú, Show of Hands, Juan Martín, Frankie Gavin, The Demon Barbers, Roadshow, Whapweasel, The Committee Band, The Wrigley Sisters, The English Acoustic Collective, Maggie Boyle, Coope, Boyes and Simpson, Jaune Toujours, The Mellstock Band, Les Barker, David Hughes, Norbert Pignol, Strawberry the Clown, Jali Fily Cissokho, Bella Hardy, John Dipper Band, Sild, Arlen and Mawkin.

WINCHESTER FOLK FESTIVAL - MAY 13 - 15
The 30th festival features an eclectic programme of concerts, ceilidhs, sessions and workshops. Artists confirmed include Dr Faustus, The Bismarcks, Danú, John Kirkpatrick and Roy Bailey, Luke Plumb (Shooglenifty) and Simon Bradley, Colcannon, Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer, Craig Morgan Robson and many others, including local acts such as Albatross Pie, the Andover Museum Loft Singers, the Woodfidley Band and many dance groups.
The festival will take place In venues around Winchester as diverse as the Theatre Royal, the Guildhall, various pubs and clubs, the High Street and the grounds of the Cathedral. Opening on the Friday evening, the festival gets under way with a series of folk club sessions and gigs in a range of intimate pub and club venues in Winchester.
Saturday is packed with concerts, street dancing, singing and instrumental sessions, workshops and story-telling and offers the choice of a concert or ceilidh at the Guildhall to end the day. The Theatre Royal is the venue for most of the activities on Sunday with a series of concerts and workshops culminating with a concert by the top Irish band, Danú. BOS*STOCK COMMUNITY MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL, SHELLEY PARK, BOSCOMBE,
BOURNEMOUTH - SATURDAY MAY 14

Bos*stock is an outdoor music and art event which involves the lively Boscombe community. A colourful blend of local artists and bands, acoustic open mic sessions (bring your own instrument!), chill-out area, art exhibitions, music
workshops, art & craft stalls, café and children’s workshops - open to everyone!

The main focus of the festival will be the live music stage with programme running from 12pm until 7pm. Bands include new roots reggae formation PepperSoup and Perico ( www.perico.co.uk ) with their South American music style. Subgiant ( www.subgiant.co.uk ) previously performed ambient dub at Glastonbury and Bestival. The Farangs ( www.thefarangs.net ) with their melodic ska punk are joined by Adsono performing Djmbe-driven, energetic folk rock, and Jinder ( www.jinderonline.co.uk ), who is already well known in the local music scene. Roads (www.roadsmusic.co.uk ) and The Shrouds will add a more rocky edge to the line-up.
In addition to the main stage acoustic artists such as the lovely Anita are asked to perform in the chill-out tent where the audience is also invited to join the drumming workshops. To round up the festival the Boscombe Community
Fair is organising a Fairy Ball running from 8pm to 1am, venue to be confirmed.

Amongst the musical highlights of this year’s festival are appearances by the National Beijing Opera Company of China, Laurie Anderson, Dame Felicity Lott, Marianne Faithfull, Britten Sinfonia, Battlefield Band, Reg Presley & The Troggs, Sambuca, Omar Sosa Trio and many more.
