PLAYING OUT LOUD! An online monthly guide to live music in the South. NOVEMBER 2003 Welcome to the November edition of Playing Out Loud, POL for short. More comprehensive than ever with in-depth articles and interviews including an exclusive with Gordon Haskell. As regular visitors will know, and there are thousands of them now making 60,000+ hits per month, our mission is to stimulate interest in live music and let you know what’s on and where in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and parts of adjoining counties. Jazz, pop, blues, folk, country, rock, soul and classical music are all covered - if it’s live it’s here. But POL is not just a gigs listing site. Our Message Board has proved a popular innovation, but has been mainly used to recruit band members or announce last-minute gigs. So this month we will be starting an Articles For Sale section for anyone who wishes to sell albums, CDs, books, musical instruments, magazine, music ephemera - in fact anything music-related. And it’s completely free. We will continue to review gigs, CDs, books and restaurants and provide you with the latest news. We also offer our services, for a small fee, to bands and performers looking to improve their press, media or web content, and help them get more gigs. With over twenty years media experience, I personally know what is required to get media coverage and how to present it, so email me for more details. If you like the look of this website my website manager can also help you set up your own website or improve your existing one. Again, just email for more information. As from this month you can also read a special Playing Out Loud column in the fast-growing AND Magazine read by thousands across the South. We will be pleased to consider contributions to go on the website and in AND Magazine - just give us plenty of notice. The current AND Magazine covers October and November, so to be sure of a chance to figure in the December edition send details before November 13. Now get out there and enjoy some live music!
