PLAYING OUT LOUD!
NEWS
Hello friends,
Good news! At last work is underway (woohoo!). Check it out how's it getting on
www.mrkyps.net . It will all
be done and dusted ready for the grand re-opening on Fri 28th Nov! Heralding in
this new dawn will be an awesome showcase of original rock artists - hardrock
legends The Quireboys along with our old friends, Voodoo Vegas and US
singer-songwriter, Mary McBride. So welcome the new Mr Kyps back with style and
get your tickets here - while you still can!
With all guns blazing on the 28th Nov, the gigs from that weekend are back on
sale including the amazing ELO Experience on Sat 29th Nov. As a thank you for
your endless patience we've got a special offer for mailing list members - just
quote 'bluesky' for a £7 ticket offer (usually £10!). To get this exclusive
offer give us a ring Mr Kyps 01202 748945 or buy online here.
Also, don't forget in November we've still got a few ace Opera House gigs up our
sleeve to tide you over until we're back in business on the 28th... Seth Lakeman
on Wed 12th and The Great Pretender on Fri 14th Nov. Both are selling like
hotcakes so just follow the links to buy tickets and don't miss out!
Finally...
YOUR KYPS NEEDS YOU!
Yes, we need you to put your heads together and come up with
ideas/suggestions/feedback on how we can improve Mr Kyps. What bands/artists do
you want to see? What beer do you want to drink? What can we change to make your
Mr Kyps the best it can be? Good or bad - all ideas welcome! Just tell us what
you think on our message board here. There's already been some great suggestions
posted and we look forward to hearing your ideas too!
It sounds kinda cheesey, but you lot make Mr Kyps what it is... so thanks for
hanging on in there with us, guys!
Best wishes

We were sad to hear of the death of Alan Briars last December.
Alan was co-founder of the Trowbridge Village Pump Festival and was also a
musician himself. The Arc Theatre in Trowbridge is staging A Tribute In Music To
Alan Briars on Saturday February 23. The lineup includes Alans former band
Stove Gallows, Mike Silver, Johnny Coppin, Keith Christmas and Fred Wedlock.
Please support the evening which is raising money for the Dorothy House Hospice.
Tickets are £10 through 0845 299 0476.
Mint Burston, who died on November 17, 2007, was almost single-handedly
responsible for turning the Joiners Arms from a back-street Southampton pub into
one of the most important venues on the UK gig circuit, vital in the early
careers of Radiohead, Oasis, Muse, Coldplay and almost any important band of the
last thirty years. Mint's unerring instincts, his tolerant approach, his
unselfishness and his promoting skills are remembered and appreciated by all who
have visited or played at the Joiners. Please use the Myspace tribute page to
share your memories and appreciation of this unassuming but truly great man:
